OUR STORY
Beaktivity is a family-run business built from a lifelong passion for avian care and enrichment. Founded by John and Sue, dedicated bird lovers with experience caring for a wide range of avian species—from pigeons to peacocks to parrots—our journey has always been guided by a deep commitment to bird welfare. For over a decade, we have actively volunteered with a local parrot rescue, fostering and rehabilitating parrots in our home while helping them find loving, permanent homes. Our own flock includes three macaws and three cockatoos, all adopted, along with our rescue dog, Ike. Even our two daughters, ages 6 and 9, are part of the business—helping assemble toys and learning the importance of responsible pet care. As a home-based small business, we prioritize sustainability and ethical sourcing. We proudly support other small businesses whenever possible and are committed to reducing waste. In fact, one of the driving forces behind Beaktivity was our desire to create sustainable, refillable bird toys. We even compost the used components of our toys, ensuring that our love for birds extends to caring for the planet, too. When the weather allows, you’ll find us outside with our flock in our aviary, watching them enjoy the very toys we design. For us, Beaktivity is more than a business—it’s a way to give back, enrich the lives of parrots, and share our passion with fellow bird lovers.
