Boomerang - Medium

Like a boomerang, parrots keep coming back to the Boomerang Toy because it is so much fun! The Boomerang Toy has a stainless steel base that is strong, durable, and will hold up to even the toughest beaks. It arrives with four reloadable chains that are loaded with fun enrichment and entertainment items. It has stainless steel spoons for clanging and making fun sounds. This toy base is wide and can be suspended from any type of cage top, overhead hook, or play stand. 

What is very unique about the Boomerang Toy is even though it is a generously sized toy, it saves a lot of space because it can be mounted against the side wall of a cage. This is a great option for smaller enclosures, birds who are anxious about new items, or those who do not like toys that hang overhead. 

The Boomerang Toy is also a favorite among birds who love foot toys because when mounted close to the bottom of the cage the Boomerang provides for lots of foot toy fun. This is an effective mounting option for birds who are anxious with new toys. We have had success with teaching anxious birds to play using time, patience, and mounting the Boomerang Toy close to the cage floor.

Medium Toy Description:
The Medium Boomerang is 7 inches (17cm) wide and approximately 15 inches (38 cm) long. It arrives complete with four chains loaded with appropriately sized wood blocks and slats, and other fun items such as seagrass mats, wicker balls, bamboo foraging basket, carboard tubes and pieces. We also include a carboard box for foraging that you can fill with the shredded paper packing material that is provided in your package and your bird's favorite treats. This foraging box has holes so it can easily be loaded onto your toy.  

We offer a selection of soft or medium hardness for the Medium size Boomerang Toy. 

Soft wood:
The wood blocks in the Soft wood selection are softer woods for smaller beaks or birds who just prefer softer woods. These are great options for birds with prior beak injuries or older birds. We have seen birds who refuse to play with toys and chew on wood blocks that will completely start to enjoy playing again with softer wood blocks and pieces mounted on the cables. The wood blocks in the Soft wood kit are primarily made of balsa wood and thin pieces of white pine. 

Medium wood:
The Medium wood hardness is what most healthy birds enjoy. It is fun and a bit of a challenge to destroy these blocks without being too difficult where they loose interest. The wood blocks in the Medium wood kit are primarily white pine.
