XCalibird - Small

The XCalibird Toy is a stainless steel toy base that is strong, durable, and will hold up to even the toughest beaks. This toy base top is shaped like an X, and when played with, will spin on its swivel mount, which makes for even more fun. It arrives with four reloadable cables that are loaded with fun enrichment and entertainment items. It has stainless steel spoons for clanging and making fun sounds. Please indicate the type of wood blocks you would prefer.

Special note – All of our products are intentionally designed to be larger in size. The four loaded cables can be comparable to four standard toys. Please note the dimensions listed when considering your selection.

Small Toy Description:
The Small XCalibird is 5 inches (13 cm) across and approximately 10 inches (25 cm) long. It arrives complete with four cables loaded with appropriately sized wood blocks and slats, and other fun items such as seagrass mats, wicker balls, bamboo foraging baskets, cardboard tubes, and pieces. We also include a cardboard box for foraging that you can fill with the shredded paper packing material provided in your package and your bird's favorite treats. This foraging box has holes so it can easily be loaded onto your toy.

We offer a selection of soft or medium wood hardness for the Small size XCalibird Toy:

Soft wood:
The wood blocks in the Soft wood selection are softer woods for smaller beaks or birds who just prefer softer woods. These are great options for birds with prior beak injuries or older birds. We have seen birds who refuse to play with toys and chew on wood blocks completely start to enjoy playing again with softer wood blocks and pieces mounted on the cables. The wood blocks in the Soft wood kit are primarily made of balsa wood and thin pieces of white pine.

Medium wood:
The Medium wood hardness is what most healthy birds enjoy. It is fun and a bit of a challenge to destroy these blocks without being too difficult where they lose interest. The wood blocks in the Medium wood kit are primarily white pine.
